Kostomarov was her partner in the year 2000, and they took home the bronze medal of Russia at the 2000 European Figure Skating Championships. She was conceived on 1st March, 1980 in Moscow and was born to an extended family which included Director and the economist Tatyana Dmitrievna. When she was a young girl, she was hospitalized for 6 months and diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. The skater's career together with Denis Samokhin was what made the legend. Both teams participated in the Junior World Championships, where they were placed 8th and 7th each in 1993. She was in 1994 briefly collaborated together with Maxim Kachanov. They were fifth at the Goodwill Games. She then joined forces along with Vladimir Fedorov. The partnership was successful. They twice won at the Finlandia Trophy, and they took part in the Grand Prix of Figure Skating. They accomplished more achievements. The highlight however was the 15th-place finish they won in the World Championships of 1998.
